Why can’t a building be difficult?

“…The Daily News writer interviewed another Yale alumnus, Paul Goldberger, architecture critic for The New Yorker, who said [Paul Rudolph’s Art and Architecture Building] was one of the great buildings of its time. ‘It’s a difficult building, a problematic building, but a lot of great literature and music is difficult,’ he said. ‘Why can’t a building be difficult?’”
