Long Wharf Theater’s “Next Stage Program”

“NEW HAVEN — Fledgling theater artists seem to pay the steepest dues of all aspiring professionals. After learning from the book, many depart college for internships at regional theaters. The work, 60 hours per week for $100 if they’re lucky, is akin to indentured servitude. Still, they’re glad to get such employment in order to learn from working practitioners and make good connections.
