Tallest statues in the world

Check out this run down of the tallest statues in the world from wikipedia here. At 128 meters, the Spring Temple Buddha has been the tallest statue since it’s completion in 2002. There’s little information available, but here is an impressive image from Google Maps. And read about plans to build the 555 feet high, Spirit of Houston.

Pictured above is the Ushiku Amida Buddha.

Update: Apparently, the Spirit of Houston project was terminated with the passing of Graduate of Yale School of Architecture, Doug Michels.
